11 Months
40,000 Miles of ocean racing
500 People like you from more than 40 nations facing the challenge of a lifetime

The Clipper Round The World is the only global ocean race in which anyone, regardless of experience, can compete.  Taxi drivers, chief executives, vicars, housewives, students, bankers, nurses, vets and rugby players all work together side by side, facing exactly the same challenges as professional ocean racers.

Crews sail in twelve identical, stripped down, 70 foot racing yachts, each sponsored by a city, a region or a country, so the result is entirely down to how well they work as a team in the ultimate long-distance match race.  The race is divided into eight legs and crews can decide to race one of them, a combination or all of them to complete a full circumnavigation.

It's not an easy round the world cruise - in fact, for most participants, it's the challenge of a lifetime.  And that's the point.  People seeing just what they're made of through an experience that will change their lives.

The Clipper Round The World Race Route

Visiting 14 diverse ports, the Clipper Race route will take the crews on an amazing eleven-month odyssey around the globe.  From the UK across the Atlantic Ocean to South America, crossing the Equator along the way.  Then on to South Africa, New Zealand and Australia before heading north towards Singapore, followed by China.  Crossing the Pacific Ocean brings the teams to California before they head south to the Panama Canal, witnessing first hand one of man’s great engineering triumphs.  Once through the canal, the race heads north to New York and Canada, before heading back across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe once more.
