Glasson Dock Cruising Guide

Glasson Dock is on the North West coast, near Lancaster, on the Lune Estuary.  It was originally built due to the difficulty navigating the channel to Lancaster and is now the place where the Lancaster Canal meets the sea.  Though long past its prime, Glasson Dock is still an active port with both cargo vessels and pleasure craft coming and going all year round.

Glasson Basin Marina is in a rural location with views across Morecambe Bay to the Lake District to the north.  It is accessed via a lock from the River Lune and, with a working boatyard, fuel and chandlery on site, there is no shortage of facilities for local and visiting craft.

The Lune Estuary is rich in wildlife and a popular place for walkers and cyclists on the Lancashire Coastal Path.  A general store, farm shop selling local produce and a couple of pubs are within easy reach of the marina.
