Villefranche-sur-Mer is situated between Nice and Monaco on the beautiful Mediterranean coast of France. The bay of Villefranche is one of the deepest natural harbours in the Mediterranean and, protected by Cap Ferrat, provides safe anchorage for large ships as well as many leisure craft.

Ashore visit the picturesque old town with its pastel buildings climbing the surrounding hills.  The main attraction here is exploring the maze of narrow streets, steps, squares and unique covered streets.

Villefranche is quieter and more relaxed than nearby Nice and Monaco but it is still a popular tourist destination with lots of shops, cafés and restaurants.  The old town and bay have provided a natural set for movie makers and is featured in many productions including To Catch A Thief, Never Say Never Again and The Bourne Identity.

The old harbour of La Darse dates back to the 17th century and is now a popular fully serviced marina, though many visitors take up one of the mooring buoys or choose to anchor in the shallower water around the fringes of the bay.
